Language Training for Family Members of Healthcare Professionals

The purpose of this training is to provide the partner and children of healthcare professionals with basic knowledge that will help them settle smoothly in to their new environment, workplace or school in Sweden. The primary focus of this course is to ensure that general language skills are successfully acquired. We can provide separate training for children of different age groups. Available courses:

• Beginner to Elementary (A2)
• Beginner to Pre-Intermediate (B1)
• Beginner to Intermediate (B2)

Language training for family members are available in the form of intensive or evening classes, as well.

Preliminary Assessment Test (for Non-beginners)

For applicants who have already acquired some Swedish and wouldn't like to begin their medical Swedish language course at a beginner's level, we offer preliminary assessment tests which consist of a written and an oral part. The assessment tests can be taken either online or in a classroom. Following the test, we will recommend a phase of our medical language courses that would be best suited for you to begin learning at in our school.

Preparatory Course for Job Interviews

This course was developed explicitly for those who are preparing for a job interview within Swedish healthcare. The course deals with all language matters that may occur during such interviews. We model the most frequent communication situations, prepare participants with the right phrases and help them understand the linguistic structure of psychological and other tests. They are also going to be given a short introduction to the structure of healthcare institutions and the specific features of Swedish job interviews. This course is usually carried out on a one-to-one basis.

Preparatory Course for Specific Medical Fields

Participants, who are at a competent level in general Swedish language skills may learn only medical Swedish. The objective of this training is to help them settle in specific healthcare positions. Therefore, the participant(s) will acquire both basic medical language skills and skills that are specific to their medical field. These courses are preceded by a personal discussion and a language skills assessment test.

Skill Refresher Course

For participants that have already studied Swedish and are in need of refreshing their skills, contact us. During this course, we'll help them activate all of their already acquired language skills in order to use them easily and correctly. After a language skills assessment test, a personal interview that helps us set specific objectives follows. Then, we will make a recommendation on the number of lessons and the most efficient way of training necessary for achieving these objectives.

Individual Tutorials, Both During and After the Courses

For those, who are a participant of, or have already completed any of our courses, we offer the opportunity to participate in one-to-one consultations, if they feel that they are in need of an individual tutorial in relation to certain language matters. Individual tutorials are available in 10-lesson packages.

Special Individual Tutorials According to Personal Needs

For participants, who have any special needs concerning the development of their language skills, for example improving their writing or communication skills, having special questions related to the field of legal language or intending to learn more about the language of negotiation, contact us - we can help. Individual tutorials can be carried out following a preliminary written and oral coordination. These tutorials are available in 10-lesson packages.

Extra Preparatory Classes for Exams

For those, who are participants of any of our courses and would like to have extra training before any exam (level or final), preparatory courses are available. These preparatory classes are available in 10-lesson packages.

Introductory Course to Swedish Culture and Society

This course offers an introduction to Swedish society, culture and a presentation of the norms along with sets of values, traditions and customs found within. Completing this course helps the participant(s) settle in to Swedish society. Discussing workplace culture and ethics, this course also helps them settle in to the work environment. Within this course, the participant(s) get to know the basic system of institutions, municipal structure, basic matters of law and the key information required for everyday life in Sweden. The language of instruction is Swedish or English, as requested.

Swedish Healthcare System (Introductory Course)

This course provides an introduction to the structure of the Swedish healthcare system; dealing with workplace culture and ethics as well as many other topics that facilitate settling in and working within healthcare institutions. This course is available in the form of both online and classroom courses and can be attended in the form of both one-to-one or group classes. The language of instruction is Swedish or English according to the client's request.
