General and Medical Language Trainings

Our Swedish medical language courses are complex trainings which contain both the learning process and language exams at levels A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1.

Syllabus

We have compiled special syllabi for our medical trainings; focusing mainly on goal-orientation and efficiency. The syllabi of our programs are based on lengthy experience in the field of teaching medical language and benefit from our special methodology developed during various courses. The course material of our courses consists of course books, materials specially-developed by our teachers as well as current online sources.

Main Goal

streetThe main objective of the courses is to provide participants with competent knowledge of the Swedish language, which they can use efficiently whilst employed in Sweden. In connection to this, some focus is laid upon those segments of local culture that makes it easier for healthcare employees to fit in with Swedish society.

Certificate

Course completion certificates and successful final examination certificates issued by our institution are accepted in the Swedish medical licence application process by the Swedish authorities (Socialstyrelsen).

Timing

Our Swedish medical language trainings are available throughout the year. Each course is tailored according to the needs of the participant(s). The schedules are always adjusted to the availabilities of the participant(s) and we are flexible regarding the time constraints of course arrangements.

Levels

levels from A1 until C2Our medical language trainings are available primarily in English or with other languages as the mediating language of teaching. Besides trainings from levels beginner to C1 (advanced), we also offer courses from levels beginner to A1, A2, B1, and B2. With the exception of beginner courses, Swedish language courses are always preceded by an assessment of the applicant's language skills. Reaching C1 level in general and medical Swedish can be achieved by regularly attending the lessons, preparing for the classes by completing the homework, learning new vocabulary, and other set tasks on a daily basis.

Location

lessonOnline language courses are available in our language school, but participants can also personally attend courses in our institute. The online lessons are similar to the usual classroom lessons; allowing for a convenient and modern way of teaching.

Pace of Study

We are happy to provide our clients with both intensive and non-intensive training. A course is regarded as intensive if the participants take part in at least 16 lessons per week.

Methodology

During training, a broad scale of methodological features are used in order to be as efficient as possible. The development of language skills includes three components: learning new material, practicing previously-learned material and regular repetition. In classes, different kinds of activities and material help developing the appropriate skills in question.

Rapid course model

This training method combines the traditional way of teaching a language course with students learning on their own. According to this approach, new material is taught and practiced in a concentrated way and at a fast pace in the lessons. Apart from this, a lot of individual tasks are assigned on which the participant reports back during the lessons and discusses any questions he/she might have.

We recommend this teaching method for those who have a lot of free time that they can spend learning Swedish individually after attending the lessons.

With the help of the individual rapid course, the number of lessons determined in the basic course structures can be reduced.

The rapid course is completely personalized for the participant. With this method, the number of lessons can be reduced by up to 30% from beginner to C1 level.

Course Types

For more information on our Swedish language courses, please take a look at our offers below.

Online Intensive Courses

teacherThe online intensive courses feature at least 16 lessons on a weekly basis in an online teaching format that offers convenience and effectiveness. The recommended maximum number of lessons is 25 per week (one lesson is 45 minutes long). The weekly course schedule is flexible, taking the needs and requests of participants into consideration.

Online Evening Courses

Our evening courses aim to offer a solution for those who have full-time work and would like to learn Swedish alongside. The online format of these courses provides language learners with a convenient learning possibility in the evening hours from home.

Intensive Classroom Courses

teacherIntensive classroom courses take place in our institute in the city centre of Budapest. The institute is easily reachable and offers several classrooms optimised for an efficient learning process. Such courses feature at least 16 lessons on a weekly basis.

Evening Classroom Courses

Our school is open in the late afternoon/evening hours as well to welcome those who wish to learn languages after work.

Trainings from Beginner to C1 (Advanced Level)

Participants may enrol in one of our language trainings as beginners with the aim of reaching level C1 (advanced). If the participant(s) chooses to learn within the framework of an intensive weekly course of 25 lessons, then, in an optimal case, they will be able to achieve a general and medical C1 level within 7 months. If the participant(s) prefer to learn less intensively with an evening course, then they can anticipate it being a 3.5 year learning process (in case of weekly 6 lessons) approximately, which allows them to cover all requirements of a C1 language level.

Trainings from Levels Beginner to A1, A2, B1 or B2

Participants may enrol in one of our language trainings as beginners with the aim of reaching levels A1, A2, B1 or B2, depending on the goal of the language learner.

Trainings for non-beginners

flagsParticipants who already speak some Swedish may enrol in one of our language trainings for non-beginners. A preliminary test assures that they start their training from an appropriate level.

Individual Trainings

Individual trainings offer the most flexible way of learning as the schedule is personalised according to the individual's needs. Moreover, in one-to-one tuition, we can adjust the speed of the course as well as the special medical material to the needs of the participants. We highly recommend our individual tuitions due to their time efficiency.

Group Trainings

When it comes to group trainings, participants can learn in groups of 2-4 members. The presence of other group members can facilitate the practice of oral and communicational skills. The positive learning atmosphere can be strengthened by the efforts and co-operation of the motivated participants in a group.
